ANDREW DICKISON ORIGINAL ART
Abstract Art for sale or hire.
New to the world is the “LUXE louvre” as seen above. It is a sustainable, abstract, and sculptural piece. It is hand crafted using 100’s of pieces of sustainable wood, carefully curated to create a truly beautiful modern sculptural artwork. It is finished with a very stylish black with an accent detail. The detail can be any colour that you desire.
Jackson Pollock inspired range for me, is closely related to traditional Maori Tuku Tuku that is hand crafted by interweaving and interlacing natural fibres. It has a modern similarity whereby all of my paintings have numerous layers that interweave and interlace together thus creating highly textural and beautiful patterns.
I am a highly innovative and energetic artist influenced by early abstract artists such as Jackson Pollock, Klimt, Kadinsky and also John Drawbridge from NZ. I am passionate about working with many different mediums, including acrylic paints, enamel paints, alcohol inks, wood, aluminium, brass, copper and other metals.
I love the freedom of abstract expressionism and trying to find meaning in artwork. I also sometimes add very small details in order to create some meaning, thus going a little against the philosophy of expressionism.
In my past I have worked as a social worker developing artistic programmes for vulnerable young people and I have also been an art teacher for 6 years.
I am currently a Teacher of Special Education and an Artist.
